When you register for a trial or subscription, we collect your email address and an anonymous device identifier (a hashed string — never raw hardware data). When you download CleanShot, we log the download with a truncated IP hash (first 16 characters of the SHA-256 hash of your IP) and your user agent string.
The app sends road condition queries to our API. These queries include location coordinates or road segment identifiers. We log which endpoints are called and when, tied to your license key (not your personal identity). Session logs include session counts and detected hazard counts — no route tracking.
We use your email to: send your license key, Stripe billing notifications, and respond to support requests. We never use your email for third-party marketing.
Usage data (session logs, hazard logs) is used exclusively to improve detection accuracy and service reliability. None of this data is visible to third parties.
CleanShotHQ LLC does not sell, rent, share, or monetize user data with third parties, advertisers, or data brokers. We never have. We never will. Our business model is simple: you pay a subscription, you get the service. Your data is not the product.
Stripe processes all payments. Their privacy policy applies to payment data they handle. We do not store credit card numbers. Cloudflare hosts our infrastructure and may log request metadata per their own privacy policy. ATRI Road511 provides road condition data; your queries pass through our proxy API and are not linked to your identity with ATRI.
Session logs are retained for 12 months then deleted. Account data is retained while your account is active and for 60 days after account closure. You may request account deletion at any time by emailing support@cleanshothq.com.
All communication between the app and our API is encrypted with TLS 1.2+. Passwords are not used — authentication is by license key + email. Dashboard session JWTs expire in 30 days.
